I’ve been busy doing some Christmas crafts! This specific one, a Christmas Card Holder, I’ve been working on for a little while. It took me longer than I anticipated due to not having the right paint and trying several different ideas.
The first few layers of paint turned out horrible. I went to a Japanese store to purchase the paint. On the package it said “Poster Pain”. I figured it would work. It dried, that was not my issue. My issue was, if you held it for a minute or so or if it laid on something, the red paint would come off.
I don’t know about you, but red paint on a white wall would not be good. I ended up finding some red paint I took with me from the states, it worked, it seemed to seal the other paint but I want to make sure. We ended up buying an acrylic spray “sealer”. It gave it a glossy look and I am sure the paint will not come off on my wall.
I used my Cricut Expression 2 to cut out the “Merry Christmas” and I added a small holly & berry on each side at the bottom of the sign. I am glad it came out really nice in the end, very simple and not to busy & crazy.
Are you doing and Christmas crafts this year? With your kids? Merry Christmas!
